POINT Havana
With its long sinuous lines in a forward crouching posture, the Havana dining armchair from designer Alfonso Gallego has all the kinetic potential of a bullwhip about to crack. Its actual energy, however, is a little more subdued: with its monochromatic contrasting woven Shintotex frame (either dark with ivory ticking, or ivory with dark ticking) and light, airy, open weave in the back, Havana invites us to relax by day, but at night it can dress up to any occasion.
“The Caribbean, the streets of Cuba, afternoons drinking rum, relaxation, and warmth were the inspiration," explains Gallego. Contrast is the key to this piece made from a lacquered aluminum structure covered with woven Shintotex, a highly resistant recyclable fiber developed by POINT.
The chairs are extremely lightweight as well (at 12 lbs), making Havana a very versatile option for formal dining or a breakfast nook in the courtyard. Pair with a wide selection of dining tables in our Heritage Dining collection.
